ARCUS-LOGO

The ARCUS project has been a cooperation between the
TUM-Logo Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the
sd&m-Logo software design & management GmbH & Co.KG, Munich (sd&m),

sponsored by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) under contract 01 IS 508 A 0.

Intent

The ARCUS project used to research architectures for business information systems with a focus on object oriented architecture of Client/Server-Applications. We have worked on three different subjects:

This server contains information about the Design Cookbook. Refer to the TUM server for further information about the two other topics listed above. The Design Cookbook is an approach to summarize design know how as a pattern catalog. It is based on the ideas of the 'Design Pattern' Book of the Gang-of-Four (Gamma, Helm, Johnson, Vlissides), collecting special patterns we found in the context of business information systems. We document our material using the pattern approach. We present problem/solution pairs with a detailed discussion of the various alternatives.
